Plough Music Series: Mysterious Barricades between Fathers and Sons

As Father’s Day approaches, I’m grateful to be able to write this reflection on a scene from one of my very favourite films, The Tree of Life, its use of the Francois Couperin’s transcendent rondeau ‘Les Barricades Mystérieuses,’ and what it communicates of the way all the beauty and complexity of human fatherhood is held in the self-giving love of God the Father.
