Choral Jam in Colorado Springs!
One of the most exciting things I got to do this past summer was to work with Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Colorado Springs, and the St. Anselm Society, the premiere organization on the front range for Christians in the arts, to create an impromptu choir, something we decided to call Choral Jam. Open to everyone, we wanted to inspire people to use their voices to dig into a bit of choral polyphony and have a great time communing with each other over music and theology. I was thrilled to lead the first two, starting with some Thomas Tallis's If Ye Love Me (which you can hear us perform on this page, just scroll down a bit), and an original setting I wrote for the ancient sacred text, O Magnum Mysterium. Much to my delight, even though I am away in Philadelphia this fall, Choral Jam has continued under the brilliant leadership of Emily Jarvela, and they've just announced a full schedule of dates for the fall! If you are in the Colorado Springs area, this is not to be missed. Go there to sing, or to listen, or just to fellowship! I know you'll have a marvelous time if you show up. I look forward to seeing many of you there when I arrive back in Colorado in December. If you're interested, you can check that out here. Thanks friends!
